The San Francisco Conservatory of Music is a good classical flute school

SFCM offers their students an intensive, personalized musical education and encourages them to find their own artistic voice. The conservatory also offers a number of programs to facilitate performances in a variety of settings throughout the S.F. area.

Flutists at SFCM have the opportunity to study with Timothy Day who has been on faculty since 1987 and pricipal flutist of the San Francisco Symphony since 2006.  In addition to performances at the conservatory itself, SFSM also offers several programs to facilitate performances and instructional opportunities for students throughout the greater San Francisco Area.  These programs include the Conservatory in the Schools, and Music to Go!.
